The Coronation of King Charles III
How will you celebrate??
This Saturday 6th May 2023 is a day that will go down in world history. The Coronation of King Charles III. It is a “once-in-a-lifetime” event many have never seen before or will again. We are busy out and about over the bank holiday weekend celebrating and entertaining at all kinds of events including weddings, birthdays and of course celebrating the crowning of a new king.
Just for fun we put our heads together at PC Roadshows HQ and came up with a few fun ideas to include in your coronation celebrations that can be enjoyed by all ages.
- Royal Scavenger Hunt:
Create a scavenger hunt that takes guests around the party, searching for items related to the king’s coronation. You can create a list of items, such as a crown, scepter, or royal robes, and hide them around the venue. The first guest or team to find all the items wins a prize.
- Medieval Tournament:
Host a medieval-style tournament in honor of the new king’s coronation. You can organize games like jousting, archery, and sword fighting. If you want to keep it safe, you can use foam swords and targets. Assign teams to compete against each other, and award prizes to the winning team.
- Fancy Dress:
Encourage guests to dress in their best royal attire, Famous faces from history, there is loads to chose from. Award prizes for the most authentic-looking costumes, the most creative outfits, and the best-dressed couple.
- Royal-Themed Quiz:
Who doesn’t love a fun quiz? You can create questions about Britain’s historic sites, famous landmarks, and previous monarchs. Award prizes to guests who answer the most questions correctly.
- Royal Photobooth:
Set up a royal-themed photobooth with backdrops of famous royal locations, such as Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, West Minster Abbey etc. Encourage guests to take photos with props like crowns, tiaras, and scepters.
Music
No party would be complete without music. Create a playlist or as your DJ, Band or Entertainers if you have one booked to include some royal and coronation-themed music.
