Your North West Wedding Magazine – Planning SOS.

PC Roadshows were featured in the February/March 2021 edition of Your North West Wedding Magazine.

The ‘Planning SOS’ feature Your North West Wedding Magazine asks wedding suppliers real questions posed by bride and grooms. The suppliers offer expert advice and thoughts to answer these questions.

We were asked:- What should a bride and groom consider when hiring entertainment for their wedding day?

There is so much choice and variety to consider when booking and planning entertainment for your wedding day. No other wedding supplier will spend as much time with you and your guests on your wedding day and be able to interact and influence you and your guests. Your florist or venue decorator etc isn’t using a microphone to talk to guests, in fact the majority have left building by the time you have said ‘I do’.

Things to consider when booking your entertainment.

  • Plan, make a list of what you want, what is important to you, make a list of questions. What music do you play? What is your setup like? How will you plan my entertainment with me? Can we meet up? are just a few.
  • Set a budget, BE REALLISTIC! DJ Prices vary, according to hitched.co.uk the price of a typical wedding DJ starts from £300 for a less experienced DJ. Bands costs can be more.
  • Get recommendations
  • Go to wedding fayres, this is a great way to meet all kinds of wedding suppliers and talk to them about your ideas.
  • Draw up a shortlist, ask if you can meet them, ask them your questions, get reviews and testimonials.

When should you book? – GET IN EARLY!

In 2018 we wrote a blog about wedding planners, covering when you should book your suppliers. Most weddings are planned 2 years in advance. Great wedding suppliers are booked months and sometimes years in advance. The blog can be found at www.pcroadshows.com/awesome-wedding-checklist/

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic there has been a huge amount of 2020 weddings rescheduled for 2021 and 2022 our diaries have been massively compressed with most of these weddings being squeezed into an already busy 2021 and 2022 calendar.  Touching on coronavirus do not be afraid to ask all your potential suppliers what the terms are if your wedding must be rearranged. At PC Roadshows we are honouring all our original booking agreements and allowing date changes without penalties or fees. ‘

A final note, enjoy your planning, have fun make wedding fayres a fun day out, have a meal a drink while you are out. The planning can be great fun as well.
